Evidence for ~e~b~ne-sedated Control of Differe~~tion during Embry~enesis of Vol Vox Carteri

چکیده
In the preceding paper [l] a model was proposed which offers an explanation to many aspects of embryogenesis in volvox. In particular, the model explains pattern formation during embryogenesis, i.e., it correctly predicts the very regular positioning of the reproductive cells (gonidia) within the Volvox spheroids. The assumption was made that membrane proteins mediating cell-cell contacts are involved in this control. In order to support this assumption experimentally, we treated synchronously developing gonidia with several substances known to modify cell surfaces. It is demonstrated here that these substances strongly disturb the developmental program if applied during the early stages of embryogenesis. Treatment at other times does not affect the developmental program.

Palaeostress configuration of Pan-African orogeny: evidence from the Igarra schist belt, SW Nigeria
The stress configuration and tectonic analysis of the Pan – African orogeny is drawn from the Igarra schist belt, southwestern Nigeria. The analysis of conjugate shear fractures of the schist belt indicates that two distinct compressive events (NE – SW and E – W) occurred in this Pan – African mobile zone. The palaeostress systems reveal a clockwise rotation of compressional axis from D1 (NE – ...

The RoudMajan kaolin deposit is located about 35 km northwest of Torbat-e- Heydarieh city, Khorasan Razavi Province, in the Great Kavir Block subzone. Field evidence and laboratories results indicate that this deposit is genetically associated with the alteration of basaltic andesite rocks (Lower Eocene). According to the microscopic evidence and various analytical techniques (XRD, SEM-EDS, FE-...

A total of 288 broiler chickens (1 d old) were used in a 42-d growth trial to study the effects of chicory (Cichorium intybus) and nettle (Urtica dioica) with or without multi-enzyme on growth performance, carcass traits, and biochemical parameters. The corn-soybean based control diet and 8 experimental diets were fed to each of 3 pens of chickens (12 chickens/pen). Treatments were as follows: ...

متن کاملKinematic evidence for cordierite porphyroblast growth in a contact aureole during progressive deformation; Shah-Kuh granitoid, NE Lut Block, Iran
The Shah-Kuh granitoid has intruded in the Triassic–Jurassic, pelitic and psammitic low-grade metamorphic rocks of the NE LutBlock, in Central Iran. Cordierite porphyroblasts are common in the southern pelitic sediments, but are rare in the northern psammiticrocks, in the contact aureole. Deformation fabrics in the contact aureole are well-preserved within the cordierite porphyroblasts. Therela...
